It is December 28th. I am gearing up for a new semester teaching two classes of Civics and Econ and one class of World History with a student-teacher with whom I am excited to work. I am looking forward to getting back on stage with my community theater and praying that the dreaded virus doesn't upstage us again. I am also preparing for a fundraiser with my belly dance troupe to raise money for a fellow dancer in need. Not to mention I am beginning the process of starting a Master's in Library Science.
Holiday vacation has meant time to pursue hobbies and prepare for a year of growth ahead. I have been crocheting like a madwoman, hoping to get a few things made for our Valentine's Hafla (essentially a dance party for belly dancers) so we can help our friend. I have been reading as much as I can in the meantime. I am sure this next year will get busy with everything I have gotten myself into, and I will not have time later.
As the new year moves forward, I don't know where this blog will lead. When I chose the title for the blog, I knew that one of my main goals was to chronicle the coming years as I work towards my Master's. Mostly because I don't know much about the process, writing it down seems like a good idea. Not to mention the practice that comes with writing regularly. Because I am pursuing Library Science, it makes sense to add information concerning books, technology, and community ideas that may help me (or others) in the future.
I am also a teacher, an occasional actress, a dancer, and a small community member. As a well-rounded, "real" person, it doesn't feel right to hide those parts of myself. (I think; therefore, I am?) Those facets will make appearances as well. I am also not under the impression that my writing will go "viral" at any point. Writing a blog seems like a safe place to get ideas out, you know? Eclectic indeed!
